The flood situation in Bihar worsening day by day with overflowing rivers inundating fresh areas and a total of 53.67 lakh people across 14 districts affected by it. Amid this, Congress party shared an image of a flood-affected area to attack the Bihar government over its inefficiency in handling the crisis. While sharing the image of a woman walking amidst the flooded-streets., Bihar Congress wrote, “Nitish Kumar’s good governance is now floating on the water. They were elected to transform Muzzafarpur, Bhagalpur, Bihar Sharif, and Patna into smart cities, which are now water-logged due to rains", asserting, that the change is the only option.
With the help of a reverse image search, we found this claim to be false.
The image shared by Bihar Congress was captured in West Bengal in May this year during the Cyclone Amphan. The reverse image search of the image shared by the Congress party also shows the same.
We found the image to be uploaded on an image buying platform, Alamy. The caption of the image reads, "Flooded city road with vehicles, pedestrians and uprooted trees after the severe cyclonic storm "Amphan" strike at West Bengal, India."
In conclusion, Bihar congress shared an old image from West Bengal to target the Bihar Government for the current flood situation in Bihar.
